MP Rajapaksa was captured on the 22nd of April by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division subsequent to being addressed for more than ten hours.
Rajapaksa and also previous Economic Development Ministry Secretary Dr. Nihal Jayatilaka, previous Director General of the Divineguma Department, R.R.K. Ranawaka and Divi Neguma Regional Director Bandula Thilakasiri were remanded till 20 May.
They were charged under 'People in general Property Act', for the abuse of trusts at the Divi Neguma Department amid the last administration.
