Kulasekara upbraided for forceful festival

Sri Lankan quick bowler Nuwan Kulasekara was criticized for forceful festival of Luke Ronchi's rejection amid his group's seventh ODI against New Zealand.

"Kulasekara admitted to a break of Article 2.1.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel," said the ICC in an announcement.

In the wake of asserting Ronchi's wicket, Kulasekara forcefully altered course towards the rejected batsman, which was viewed as unsuitable by the match authorities.

The charge was laid by on-field umpires Chris Gaffaney and Rod Tucker, third umpire Michael Gough and fourth umpire Derek Walker.

Kulasekara acknowledged the offense and consequently a formal hearing was not needed.
