Several groups aligned with the 'National Movement for Just Society' are urging the United National Party (UNP) leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to announce the common candidate before signing the MoU to carry out a 'common agenda' with regard to the upcoming presidential election.
Number of organizations which participated in a discussion held at Kotte Nagaviharaya today (Nov 16) regarding the signing of the MoU to carry out a common agenda has emphasized the particular matter.
Those organizations have decided to abstain from signing until the 'common candidate' is announced.
Though several opposition parties were to sign the MoU tomorrow (Nov 17), it has been postponed for few days upon the request of Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU).
