The Chairmen of the two state owned media institutions, Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House) and Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC), have resigned and two new Chairmen are to be appointed, it was reported.
Sources said Mass Media Ministry Secretary Anusha Palpita, who served as the Chairman of Lake House has forwarded his resignation letter to Minister Bandula Gunawardana and SLRC Chairman W. B. Ganegala had submitted his resignation letter yesterday (28).
Mr. Prasad Samarasinghe, who served as the Executive Director of Lankabell, is to be appointed as the Chairman of Lake House while
Professor Harendra Kariyawasam, the former Head of the Department of Accounting of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, is to be appointed as SLRC Chairman.
It was reported that both of them are close friends of Minister Gunawardana.
