It is reported that the ruling party has decided to bring the Election Expenses Regulation Bill to the Parliament despite the strong opposition of the opposition in the party leaders’ meeting held this evening. 
It has been learned that opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa and JVP leader Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake have expressed their strong opposition to this party leader meeting chaired by the speaker.
 
However, the ruling party has decided to put the bill to the vote tomorrow despite the objection of the opposition.

This decision was first taken in the party leaders’ meeting chaired by the President. The opposition leader, Anura Dissanayake, Dallas Alahapperuma and the Tamil National Alliance did not participate.
