Parliament’s Staff Advisory Committee rejects two sec. general’s suggestions and conditions one

Parliamentary Secretary General Dhammika Dasanayake has submitted many proposals to the Parliament’s Staff Advisory Committee meeting, including extending the retirement age of the Parliamentary Secretary General from 60 to 63. 
The proposals are as follows.
 
Increasing the retirement age of the Secretary General of Parliament, which is prescribed as 60 by the Constitution, from 60 to 63 years?

The post of “Coordinating Secretary to the Secretary General” which is currently on contract basis,  to be admitted to the permanent executive grade with all other facilities including 10 years’ service pension and vehicle license.

However the Staff Advisory Committee of the Parliament has rejected these 2 proposals.

In addition, the proposal to increase the retirement age of the parliamentary staff from 60 to 63 years has been accepted with an amendment to 61 years instead of 63 years subject to the approval of the Cabinet.

Mr. Dhammika Dasanayake is scheduled to retire in March 2023 at the age of 60.

The chairman of the committee was Hon. The speaker is Mr. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena. Committee members Ranil Wickramasinghe, Dinesh Gunawardena, Susil Premajayant, Sajith Premadasa, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya joined the meeting.
